Please allow me to introduce myself

Sometimes my life it feels like fiction
Some of the days it's really quite serene
I'm a living proof of all life's contradictions
One half's going where the other half's just been
And I'm a Pisces fish and the river runs through my soul

George Harrison

I have now finished my first three days and I have always felt like Wednesday of the first week is the hardest day for sure. So I am hopeful that things can only get better :) My quads have been on fire for the last few days although there does seem to be some improvement this morning. I say this as I put them through the extremely taxing process of lying in bed and typing. What a quad workout :) beyond the quads most everything else is in pretty good working order. Some tenderness in the balls of my feet but only when I am in the pool. Speaking of the pool I need to give Lisa a shout out because even the biggest dummy is susceptible to a sneak attack and she, accepted the challenge from yesterday's blog and dunked me no problem. She now, of course, has to watch her back for the rest of her stay but payback's coming.

So I found out about a week ago that CNBC will be coming to the Ridge to film on Sunday and Monday. I had gotten a call from the producer stating they were doing a show about obesity in America and various weight loss programs. And they wanted to do a story about fitness camps and the Ridge had given them my name. So long story short, after about a 45 minute phone interview they decided to fly out to Utah this weekend and film me for a couple days. My first thought was wow there will sure be a lot of inspiring shots of me on Sunday sitting on a couch watching the Super Bowl. After informing them they probably wouldn't get me for late Sunday filming they agreed to do mostly background filming on Sunday and then they will follow me around from 6am to 7pm on Monday.

Therefore you guys are going to get to see me struggle up to the stop sign. I tried to say I thought that the climbing hike would be a better representation of the program but no dice. Here's to puking on national TV. Not to mention I get the Monday step and pump class as well :) So I get to be off beat, sweating like a pig, and bent over in agony for all those happy viewers out there. So why did I agree to do this. 2 reasons You guys know I love the Ridge think it is a great experience and so beneficial. This is a chance for me to pimp the resort and I am happy to do it. I also thought maybe this story helps one person get off the couch and take a few extra steps. I don't view myself as an inspiration, but I do know that if I can make the effort not to be sedentary anyone can. I have no idea who watches CNBC but I guess somebody does.

Now if Chris Hanson shows up and wants to start asking me questions. I am going on record right now. I don't care what Rachel Alexandra says there was nothing inappropriate in my love for her, and the carrots in my pocket are for if I get hungry, and she's only 4 years old even I draw the line somewhere.
So that will be my Sunday and Monday. I already apologize to any current campers reading this. I will be embarrassed by the attention. If anyone wants me to try and drop a shout out or a favorite word into the filming let me know. I have no idea when this will air but they seem to think fairly soon, as early as March or April of this year.

Other fun stuff. The food has been really good this week. The improvement from 2 years ago is remarkable. I have done a poor job getting pictures but I will do much better I swear. They have added a Saturday night outing to the festivities here. Last Saturday was Karaoke (complete credit goes to Jim Simon for this trend) this Saturday is bowling. I can't imagine the spectacle our group will be but the St George Saturday night bowlers are in for a treat. Time for me to get up and get ready. I hope everyone is having a great week and feel free to smack your quadriceps with a sledgehammer a few times if you want to replicate the feeling I have had these past couple days. A huge thank you to Rachelle from Eugene, OR for today's song!!! As always, peace, love and Utah sunshine, Jim

I honestly think you have no idea what inspriation you are....
I am glad CNBC figured it out...
But I agree, Chris Hanson should hipe up stop sign....
As for Rachel Alexandra, I am a little afraid of horses (they are a bit to big for my taste). But a friend of mine is all set to get me riding this year....
good luck, I am with you all the way.
